Distribution

Under the terms of the BookForce Online distribution contract, publisher clients agree to:

•  nominate out of print ( or other ) titles and give approval to Nielsen/Bowker

for BookForce to be their nominated distributor

•  provide a default bookstore discount structure and exceptions by store

•  supply files or hard copies of each title so that printable files can be prepared

BookForce Online opens up an account in the publishers name and undertakes to:

•  upload approved discount structure

•  scan or prepare files supplied and upload to the online system

•  check that Nielsen/Bowker have recorded the change of distributor

•  advertise the change in industry press

Orders can then be received:

•  electronically either direct or via teleordering

•  by phone/fax or e-mail

•  by manual entry by the publisher through their online account

Orders are printed and despatched by BookForce Online direct to the customer according to agreed time schedules with BookForce Online invoicing the bookstore direct

One payment is made every month in arrears to the publisher (on agreed terms) for the full value of the net sales supplied less BookForce Online distribution and printing fees

The reports section on the online system provides real-time data on sales with associated reports which can be tailored for royalty calculations and other derived requirements.

Distribution can be extended outside of the UK using BookForce 's overseas partners in the US , Australia , Canada and Holland , subject to the necessary rights approvals.
