BookForce
Online acts in exactly the same way as a conventional
physical book distributor and thus runs a combined sales
ledger wherein invoices to any bookstore or wholesaler
may contain books from any client publisher combination.
BookForce
Online collects payments from bookstores but still remits
100% of the net sales invoice value to the client publisher
no matter what proportion of invoices are actually paid
by the customer.
BookForce
Online operates a credit control policy which endeavours
to keep accounts open for supply whilst balancing up the
need to encourage customers to pay on time. Wherever possible,
BookForce Online will work closely with client publishers
before enacting the withholding of credit facilities.
However BFOL also has a debt insurance policy in place
to which the client publishers can opt to contribute to
ensure bad debt losses are minimised.
Client
publishers have access to information which shows books
supplied to each account but access to the total sales
ledger is restricted because of confidentiality over other
publishers' data.
